This year's Lakhejatra has begun in Beltar city from Shravan 24th, Gunhipunhi. The Lakhejatra was started by performing rituals at the Bhimsen Temple located in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-7. During the Lakhejatra, dance performances are performed by going around the market every day until Krishna Janmashtami. Along with the worship of the ancestral deity Bhimsen of the Newar community, the Lakhejatra dance begins by worshiping the dhol, dholaki, jhyamta, mukundo, and the clothes worn by the Lakhej.
