Four out of seven teenagers who had gone to celebrate a friend's birthday in the Khutia River of Godavari Municipality-9 in Kailali have drowned. Saksham Joshi, Prateek Chaudhary, Jeb Bhandari and Javez Bhandari of Dhangadhi died in the incident that took place on the afternoon of 12 Bhadra (today). They drowned while returning after crossing the river with their clothes and eating food. Police have stated that three more people also died while trying to save one of them after drowning. Nabil Budal, Yubaraj Kunwar and Prakash Malla were safe on the other side of the river in the incident. Three of the deceased were studying in class 11 at Balmiki International School and one at Galaxy School. The bodies of all four have been kept at Seti Provincial Hospital. Police have informed that they will be handed over to the families after the post-mortem.
